A Beautiful Surprise

I came home earlier yesterday, an hour before. I had an appointment with my dad's cancer specialist at the SGH. Master Nik Azhim , an amazing leading specialist in Sarawak. He was very attentive with all my queries and my personal concerns. It's very important for me to know and understand all the procedures for my dad's coming threatment at Selayang GH. He walked me through the coming threatment process and procedures that my father will undergo, explaining to me the medical lingo and terms. He was very assuring that my dad will be going for positive recovery. The best thing was, he announced that SGH will soon have proper and updated medical equipments that will be accesible for my dad's recovery process. Inshallah.

Once I reached home later in the evening, mom says I have a special delivery from Indonesia.

OMG! I can't believe my eyes when I saw the parcel . It was Chandra Satria CD; Ingatlah Diriku, YES!. It was sent by his truly Chandra Satria, an amazing pop jazz singer from Indonesia. He is among the most sort after rising indonesian star, blessed with good looks and outstanding talents. His album is so beautifully made, with duets Dato' Sheila Majid and Ruth Sahanaya(two living asian music legends), I managed to listen to them all in a night. Just thruly fabulous. I wished the best for him and thanked him for his kind generousity to send me the CD all the way from Indonesia.

He is one of those angels that I will encounter in my life.

Sheila Majid Legenda The Concert 1991

OMG..I'm like OMG!!!

After 18 years of that long wait for the CD to be re-released. I'm like totally excited!(Yeah, I'm doing the bimbo thingy a few seconds ago)

My idol Sheila Majid or better known as Dato' Sheila these days is fame for her outstanding entertaining persona on stage, the best local female artiste is well recognised for her amazing concerts and shows, is being honored by Warner Music Malaysia to repackage and re-released her sold out concert and digitally remastered music CD(which sadly only available for 2-3 years before and cost almost Rm100)

--> the CD is now only Rm25.90 (Cheap huh?)

Those days, Malaysian music critics were not ready for local artist to come out with concert recorded album, only handful local rock group(namely Search and Wings) managed to come out with their own live concert albums thus, for a pop jazz singer, and for many many years she is unofficially crowned as 'Ratu" or Queen of Jazz Malaysia, and for her to be that daring to release such album.The effort is just simply Fabulous.


On the album review
A recorded concert album features some of her earlier hits from Dimensi Baru, Emosi, Warna, and then platinum winning album Legenda(remake of her much love songs from the late Malaysian music Legend Tan Sri P Ramlee)
She receives countless mix reaction by local music critiques, they stormed her vocal ability and they said, live concerts will only downgrade her credit as an artise vocal ability wise, as they are raw and no engineered music mixing involves(mind you, like Madonna; she is a natural born entertainer and she doesnt need to rely much on vocal gung-ho-ness like Celine Dion or Siti Nurhaliza)
They critize her much talk about "S" accentuated pronounciation(which sometimes sounded like she's pronouning it 'ESHhh", for me that makes her unique and classy)
They commented that the concert should have more choreography, circus like act dances( Yes, the local music 'weirdos' then, still so used to the local TV show RTM Hiburan Minggu Ini : Silly, funny and predictable dance moves)
But for me, Legenda The Concert recreate a new epitome to local music entertaintment scene. We dont have much talent that have the power to have such stage persona; an X-Factor that makes us says : WOOOOW!!
So far, Sheila is the only Malaysian artise that have this...

Her fans (including myself) has been dying to have Sheila to come out with these type of album, - superb! Her vocals were as excellent as it is now, the music arrangement was fantastic and you can clearly feel the high emotions of each and every souls that gather to witness a Malaysian music history in the making. It's definitely a night to remember for everyone there. The only thing I regret the most, I wasnt there to be a part of that magical evening!

The year was 1991, 27th November , and the venue was Stadium Negara. I was only 13th years old then, already am a fanatic fan of Dato' Sheila ( I want to be her so badly that I wished I could as petitee and as beautiful as her ). The Legenda Concert made local music history as the 1st ever achievement by Malay Female Pop Singer to gather almost 15k(to date, no other local act managed to beat this record) music fans at one single venue concert . Sheila outdid herself and was a long awaited concert from her by many of her legion fans, she once said in one of the interview :" The best concert I've ever did!"

I still remember , the concert was recorded and later aired in the local TV station(TV3) as special Syawal treat in 1992. I swear I was jumping up and down infront of the TV , while watching the concert. The show was so amazing that, the whole family of mine watched together and amazed with this petite lady in action. She's just so amazing!

This will be one angry entry! No I don't have issues..

So , today is like the eve of supposedly the overly commercialized holiday in the world. Businesses will take their chances to drain anyone, even with our challenging global economy climate: Check this out~! with super expensive 'Lovers Package" or Special V Day Package, Or worst ever tag line Only For Lovers V-day, normal rose will priced from the usual Rm2.50 a stem to Rm15 , nasik lemak, mee mamak or other food that used to cost less will magically be more expensive than ever.
And you will notice the unusually blooming street side hawkers selling flowers, chocolate & candies and teddy bears (which some emblazoned with Happy Birthday instead of Happy Valentine's Day) ..WHAT?!!

I mean, I am on the other hand do not believe in celebrating this V day, as it's lame and it is definitely a waste of MONEY!

Speaking from my own past naive experiences, I used to be those people who awaits this supposedly special day, and yes those were my :What Was I Thinking Moment- hay-days of mine. I come to a clean conclusion that : love should be express every day, not just a day. Love should be celebrate with anyone and everyone.

Your friends, your family and even your pets: This brings me to my point of that Valentine's days are not meant for only for couples. That is such a wrong descriptions. You entitled to this, and you do not need people to justify for .

Ingatlah Diriku the latest effort by Dato' Sheila Majid (harus kena sebut betul2 okie!) and Chandra Satria(Indonesian pop hottie!)

I first listen to this song days ago, and like any other Sheila's song. I quickly 'jatuh cinta' with it. It's an amazing duet so far. Sheila out did her effortless vocal in this song, and I must say, she's getting more fabulous as she ageing gracefully.

Nobody can look this good with a Chanel inspired off shoulders Greecian Goddess Black Gown okie...Fantastic(thanks Azman Mohd : Sheila muse for uploading these pictures in facebook) love this look on her, simply beautiful!

Stam was born in Kincardine, Ontario and grew up on a farm alongside her six brothers. She came from a religious family and attended Sacred Heart High School (in Walkerton, Ontario). Her original intention was to become a dentist.[1]
Stam was discovered in a local Tim Hortons coffee shop by Michèle Miller (an agent at the International Model Management agency in Barrie, Ontario) who found Stam on the way back from Canada's Wonderland (a theme park just outside Toronto).

Career
Stam won the Los Angeles Model Look Search in 2002.Photographer Steven Meisel jump started her career and soon after cast her in every advertisement campaign of his.
"I guess I'm his muse", she has said.
She has appeared on the cover of UK & German Vogue and in advertisements for Marc Jacobs, Anna Sui, Giorgio Armani, Vera Wang, Valentino, Miu Miu, Gucci, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace and Holt Renfrew, Dior, BCBG Max Azria, Lanvin, Roberto Cavalli, Bulgari, H&M and DKNY.
In 2004, Stam appeared in the short film Agent Orange.


Fashion designer Marc Jacobs created The Marc Jacobs Stam, a bag inspired by and named after her. For the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in 2006 she opened the fourth runway theme "Pink". The appearance also included a featurette showing a Victoria's Secret commercial shoot and what a model sees when walking the runway. In the January 2006, she appeared in the Rochas ad campaign, shot and directed by Bruno Aveillan.


For Spring 2006 Ready-to-Wear, Stam walked a total of 64 shows combined during the New York, Milan, and Paris Fashion Weeks. During Paris's Spring/Summer 2007 Haute Couture fashion week she walked for Chanel, Christian Lacroix, Christian Dior, Givenchy, and Jean Paul Gaultier. She currently stands at number four on the "Top 50 Models" rating at models.com. In
